If you're here, on this website, looking at our products, trying them, & loving them, then you're one of countless people who are indebted to Marcia Bothman.

Over 30 years ago, Mama Marcia took a leap of faith & (after a LOT of old school research) made a batch of Goat Milk Soap.  Was it perfect?  No.  Did it fan her spark of curiosity & push her to try again?  You betcha!  The past 3 decades have seen tens of thousands of batches of soap, lotion, & cream all made with fresh milk from her adored herd of champion Nubian Goats.  During that time, recipes have been tweaked to perfection, expanded to add herb-infused oils, beeswax & various butters from around the world.  In the soaper community, Marcia's knowledge & products are still sought after & she is understandably protective & proud of the legacy she has created!

And now, at 73 years young, Miss Marcia has entered into the next phase of her life: retirement!  While that means rest (what??), travel with her husband (again, what???), & time with her exotic birds & beloved doodle Binx, that has also brought up the all-too-important question from her loyal customers:

What does that mean for the Soap Shop???

It means that the Legacy, HER Legacy, has been passed down to the two luckiest (and most terrified) besties around - Rachael Shotts & Tiffany Woods.  We've used her products for years & built a solid relationship of trust & love with Mama Marcia, which is what made this change of hands possible.  Marcia knew she needed someone (or a pair of someones lol) who understood the ins & outs of not only the business, but the products & recipes.  She needed someone who would be passionate enough to learn not just HOW, but WHY we make what we make - what each ingredient does, how it behaves, & why we put it in WHEN we put it in for each. individual. recipe. 

Is it a lot?  Yes, yes it is! 

Has it been the most amazing journey to learn such an incredible craft at the hand of a master soaper?  Oh, my goodness YES!

Are we confident we'll make mistakes?  Also an affirmative!  Just keeping it real here haha!

Are we changing any recipes or discontinuing her best sellers?  ABSOLUTELY NOT!  We get it, & trust us, we're right there with you.  We use these products.  Our children, siblings, parents, extended family & friends all use & rely on these products.  We are not going to mess with a good thing.

Will there be some changes?  Yep!  We're already working on taking the labeling back to a simpler look, so you might notice a few different variations as we figure that out.  If you've been a long-time online customer of Marcia's you've probably noticed the facelift to the website, or that there has been a sudden increase in social media posts.  We're working on getting in the routine of keeping those updated!  We've also noticed that a few lotions aren't selling as well as they might if they were created as a cream, & vice versa.  Or that some fragrances that used to be customer favorites have been chilling on the back burner, & need a refreshing update to their overall fragrance profile to get them back on the Best Seller list.

So, there it is.  The "why" to the "huh?" LOL  We hope you'll continue this journey with us, & be comforted in the knowledge that Mama Marcia is just a phone call away & promises to come to our rescue as often as needed!!
